Home Screening for Obstructive Sleep Apnea
The ApneaLink& is not a substitute for an overnight PSG sleep
study but it is a good
start.
If you've ever been told you stop breathing while you are sleeping or
that you snort and gasp for breath, that is also a good indication of
OSA. Please contact for a referral to a service that offer this
screening.
Perhaps you're the type of person who likes to see the actual data on paper rather than taking someone else's word for it. That's where the ApneaLink™ comes in. Take the ApneaLink™ home for one or two nights for a screening test from the comfort of your own bed. When you return with the ApneaLink™ your results will be downloaded, printed and explained to you; a process that usually takes no more than 10 minutes.
If the data from the ApneaLink™ isn't enough to convince you to have an overnight PSG sleep study, take the Digital Pulse Oximeter as well. You'll be able to see just how the apneas affect your heart rate and your blood oxygen levels.
The Digital Pulse Oximeter can be used on your finger together with
a CPAP machine, so it can be used to test the effectiveness of your
treatment
